Types of Kaffarah
KAFFARAH FOR FASTING
Kaffarah Jimak
- Kaffarah Jimak is a penalty for those whose fast was nullified during the month of Ramadan for engaging in sexual intercourse during the day.
- To atone for this, a person must fast for 60 consecutive days.
- If he/she is unable to fast, they should feed 60 poor or needy individuals.
KAFFARAH FOR OATHS
Kaffarah Nazar
- Nazar is an oath or vow made to perform certain actions if certain conditions are met.
- Kaffarah Nazar applies for those who broke an oath, violated the terms of the oath or wants to invalidate their oath.
- For redemption of broken oaths, one must feed 10 poor or needy people.
